| Places to Visit
North Wales is packed with places of interest
to visit - there really is something for everyone.
There are many ancient Celtic monuments throughout
Anglesey and fine castles and stately homes on Anglesey
– the castle in Beaumaris
and the grand home of the marques of Anglesey -
Plas Newydd. Penrhyn
Castle in Llandygai outside Bangor, another
castle in nearby Caernarfon
where the Prince of Wales was crowned and Conwy
Castle further up the A55.
For the active, Anglesey can provide horse
riding, golf, rock climbing, canoeing, sailing,
windsurfing, and many more outdoor activities.
In 2002 Anglesey beaches won the following Seaside
Awards:
- 4 Blue Flag / Resort
- 2 Resort Seaside Award
- 11 Rural Seaside Award
- 9 Seaside Award/Green Coast
Full details can be found about the individual
beaches by visiting the 2004
Seaside Awards website and clicking on Anglesey
on the map.
For a really full day out, take a trip from Holyhead
to Dublin by ferry and claim your duty free
ration!
Children are well catered for too with several country
parks and adventure playgrounds which cater for
the needs of the young.
Anglesey has many fine
restaurants and pubs which cater for all
tastes. But if seafood is your favourite, then visit
the Lobster Pot, an internationally renowned seafood
restaurant in nearby Church Bay. Most places cater
for children.
Our reception area will be able to provide more
information about any of the activities or places
of interest. |
